Insects are messengers from spirit world 9/29/2016

Have you ever seen a butterfly frying around you out of season? I was told that Spirits can send insects to their loved one as their messengers. I believe most Japanese people are told the same way as I was.

I have two experiences to share with you.

The first experience is a message to my father. My family used to go see my paternal ancestors in the graveyard twice a year; spring and autumnal equinox day. The graveyard was in my dad’s hometown, where is located at three hours drives away from our current house.

Every time when we gathered up in front of the grave, one butterfly would come to my dad and rested at his shoulder. There were some days we had a snow or a rain, but regardless of the weather, almost all the time, one butterfly would come and hung around with my dad. I was not only one witness. My mom and my brother witnessed it. Sometimes, my dad’s bother and his family witnessed it. To me, it was a simple message from my dad’s ancestors that they love my dad.

The second experience is a message to my brother and me. When I was 11 years old, my grandfather had hospitalized for some months for sickness. My mom had gone to the hospital every day to take care of her dad, so my brother and I used to stay at home alone. One evening, my brother and I found a big spider (approx. 8 inch; 20 cm) at the wall of staircase. We didn’t feel scared of it. On the next morning, my mom told me my grandfather passed away. So, the spider came to my brother and me to let us know of his departure in advance.

As far as my personal experiences, insects are sent to us to convey a message, but the message tends to be a pretty simple. Something like “you are loved” or “we are watching over you”. I believe this simple message can be very powerful when you need some type of confirmation.
