Privileges of being a foreigner 11/4/2016

I am a foreigner at the place where I live right now. I am Japanese living in America. It can bring inconveniences. In many ways.

I chose my life to live my former half in Japan and my latter half in America. And I have started my spiritual work in America. I was wondering why in America, not in Japan. Because here in America, people still have a hard time to understand my English accent and pronunciation. I thought it would be much easier for me to do my job in my mother county, Japan.

My spiritual work is to convey the messages from Spirits. Messages from Spirits are mysterious, because we cannot see or hear them in our physical senses. When people face to something mysterious, their natural reaction is to fear. Fear for not understanding that.

I convey the mysterious stuff, with a foreigner’s physical appearance and foreigner’s strange accent. My inconvenient aspects actually help people to reduce to have fear. People naturally think “oh, well…, I don’t understand what she is saying, but she is from different culture anyway. It is totally okay with me for not understanding what she is saying…” The great part is that people don’t completely refuse me, because we naturally are attracted to something mysterious.

In Astrology, we have Sabian symbols. Sabian symbols were created by the American astrologer Marc Edmund Jones with the help of the clairvoyant Elsie Wheeler. The 360 symbols are the detailed reading method in a horoscope chart reading.

Some Sabian symbols describes “Chinese” “Hindu”. I think the creator of the Sabian Symbol used these foreigners as representative of something mysterious, something hard to understand. And people will be intrigued to something mysterious and try to understand that. I think my privileges of being a foreigner is the same logic as the Sabian Symbols. Being mysterious can function as a buffer so that people don’t need to fear for not understanding clearly. Being mysterious can also function as a magnet to attract people’s interest to know more about that.

So, same thing can be applied to everybody. If you have something that you feel inconvenient, it might be the one that also brings you some privileges.
