Swimmer’s shoulder 2/21/2017

In my previous short articles, I mentioned about the pain in my left arm and wrist. Deep inside, I know this pain is nothing to do with my physical condition such as bones or muscles. But the physical leveled me freaks out of this pain. I wanted to know the causes. And I wanted to get rid of this pain as soon as possible.

I talked about this pain to my doctor, and he referred me to have an X-lay. The result was normal. According to the doctor, this is called as rotator cuff tendinitis. It is also known as swimmer’s shoulder, pitcher’s shoulder, or tennis shoulder. In my case, I was a swimmer in my student days, so mine is swimmer’s shoulder.

This doctor’s visit reminded me about my back pain when I was a high school student. I played the volleyball every day at the school club. During that days, I started suffering from the back pain. One day the pain got extreme level that I could not walk. So my mother took me to the doctor and I had an X-lay taken for my back bones.

Based on the X-lay result, the doctor told me I was born lacking one spine. The doctor told me not to worry too much, because I was not the only one. There are many people born like that, lacking 1 or having 1 extra spine.

He said I might have a tendency of chronic back pain. And he suggested me to maintain good muscle in my back so that the muscle could support my back as spine. Since then, I started sit-ups and push-ups at home every day to maintain good muscle. I liked this doctor. He never made me feel scared. He told me to consider this as a blessing, because I would pay more attention to maintain muscle on my body.

Perhaps my left shoulder might be healed with some exercise or muscle training. I will pay more attention to each part of my body. And I will appreciate each of my body for functioning well for me. Maybe, the pain on my left arm wanted me to tell this message.

Any feedback? (^^♪
