Dream career 4/21/2017

Today I want to share my dream career along with my age.

When I was a kindergartener, my dream career as a wife/mother. At the age of 3 or 4, I clearly saw the future myself as a wife/mother of 2 children; a boy and a girl.

During the elementary school days, I was good at making people laugh, so I thought of my future career as a professional comedian. I was also good at the Tarot card reading and horoscope chart reading. I didn’t have to memorize the information. I was for sure I had been doing these reading in my past lives. So, I also thought about being a professional fortune teller and Tarot card reader. I was good at creating a fiction story, so I thought about publishing books for younger kids.

During the junior high school days, I thought about becoming a school teacher for the elementary school kids.

During the high school days, I thought about becoming an attorney. I wanted to save the people who suffer from being a victim for a certain tough situation. I wanted to be a spokesman for such people with the appropriate knowledge and wording. I actually took some entrance exams for the university to become an attorney, I failed the exams.

During the university and the graduate school days, since I majored in English linguistics, I wanted to become a professional translator/interpreter. I also thought about becoming a professor at the university to teach English.

Since I was a high school student, I have experienced many different jobs including part time jobs. I thought about those different jobs.

I didn’t enjoy working as a shop clerk, a restaurant/cafeteria waitress, and a staff member at a first food store.

I did enjoy working as a secretary, an office manager, an in-house/freelance translator/interpreter, and a freelance writer for short articles. This analysis of myself helps to get to know me.

So, today’s my small suggestion for you is to make time to analyze your dream career and actual jobs that you have experienced so far. I know you will enjoy getting to know you more. Have fun.
