While I was staying at my Japanese friend’s house, she cooked enzyme brown rice (酵素玄米). At the first sight, it looked like Festive red rice (赤飯). We eat this red rice at the time of cerebration. Normally when a girl has her first period, the mother cooks festive red rice. When I had mine for the first time, I asked my mom not to tell anybody. She said okay, but she cooked the festive red rice for the dinner. My dad and brother asked mom what was the cerebration for. I was so embarrassed for the red rice.
Anyways, back to the story of enzyme brown rice. It has reddish color and red beans, but enzyme brown rice and red rice are made from different ingredients and different recipe.

I never heard of enzyme brown rice and never ate it. The taste and texture were amazing. It was sweet and soft. It gave me a satisfaction sensation as if I was full with a small amount.
After I came back to America, I cooked enzyme brown rice. It turned out pretty good.
I could not cook brown rice well before, and my family and I never liked it. But with this recipe of enzyme brown rice, all of us became a big fan of brown rice. I appreciate for my friend to introduce me this amazing food.
