The house purchasing procedure: Remainder: Day-3: 1/13/2018

This is the continuous story about our home purchasing procedure.

My day started from two emails along with two cell phone text messages from the realtor agent. They were sent at 6:30 am. One document was attached in the email. She urged us to sign the document and submit to her within today by 5 pm.

I thought I made it clear to the realtor agent that we would not purchase the house last night, but she didn’t take it that way. The realtor agent and I exchanged some emails back and forth.

My main reason to back up was their asking to raise the price. I thought it is not fair. But she mentioned it is the typical procedure for the bank owned property.

She seems to be loyal and trustworthy. Maybe I can trust her. Now that I understood the procedure was fair. I think our offered price was reasonable. She agrees with me.

I thought back about all the extra information and knowledge that I was told yesterday. Since the house is foreclosed, the seller will sell the property as is. Before we move in, we will need to repaint the entire house. Also, we will need to steam-cleanse the tiles on the entire house. There is one more thing we will have to pay for it. It is the fence around the swimming pool. Arizona law requires the house owner with small children to secure the home swimming pool with a fence and a lock. I received a rough quotation of all the extra cost. It was much more higher than I had expected.

When I consider all the extra cost, of course the total amount will be raised than the original price. I still think my body reaction of reluctance and heavy stress feeling was the right answer for me at this moment; which is not to purchase the house.

I still appreciate for the help of the realtor agent. She was kind and helpful during all the procedure. I feel sorry for her of our decision of not to buy the house through her.
