Tree trimming 1/27/2018

At our front yard, in front of the entrance door, we have a big tree. I don’t know the exact name of the tree. It looks like a pineapple or a coconut tree. The tree was never trimmed. When we moved into this house four years ago, the tree was already in a bad shape with lots of dead branches hanging heavily.

Recently, I have finished reading the book Feng Shui for the Soul written by Denise Linn. I enjoyed her book very much. She shares the information of Feng Shui along with her personal experiences and the knowledge that she had accumulated in her life. In the book, she emphasizes of the importance of decluttering. She explained that when things are cluttered, energy will be clogged up there.

When I read that part, the entrance tree came to my mind very strongly. I thought I should do something for this tree.

 Before
Before

This is not our house; we are just renting it. The tree was like that before we came. Thus, technically speaking, we are not responsible for this tree. The owner does not mind it at all and that is why the tree is left like this for years. But I felt sorry for this tree. This house was built in 2002. Possibly, the tree was planted on the same year. Since then, for these 16 years, nobody took care of the tree. There was no mark that the tree was trimmed.

I asked help to my husband. We went to the local DIY store to get some hand saws. We started trimming the old branches. They were the dry woods and hard to saw. We started at 1 pm and kept on working until the late evening of 7 pm. When it was done, the sun was already set and it got dark.

While we were trimming the tree, some neighbors cheered us up. They all said the tree looked much better than before.

When it was done, it sure did look much nicer than before. I am sure that the tree appreciates for our hard work on trimming nicely.
