Pay attention to what we eat 4/18/2018

At the begging of this month, my husband went to the grocery store and bought a whole bunch of boxes of frozen meal for his lunch. These kind of frozen meals are popular in America. They are pretty cheap ranging from $2 to $4. It is easy to cook. After throwing it in a microwave for the allotted time, your meal is ready to eat.

When I saw the piles of frozen lunch boxes stacked in our freezer, I felt uncomfortable. I shared my intuition with my husband, that I didn’t feel good about these meals.

My husband didn’t pay attention to my intuition. He mentioned about the benefits of the cheap prices, convenience to cook, and the deliciousness, etc.

After having eaten frozen meals for several days in a row, he finally shared his experiences. He kept on eating the frozen meals almost every day at the office for his lunch. On the first day, it was okay. From the second day, after he ate, he noticed his energy drained. He once almost puked. Among the artificial delicious scent, he could somewhat smell a certain type of chemical that was not pleasant at all. So, he finally stopped eating them. In his office freezer, there are still some more frozen meals untouched. He doesn’t feel like eating them at all.

While I was listening to his experience, I was sure the reason why he got very sick and could not go to work this week. It was obvious to me that was from unnecessary ingredients and chemicals contained in the frozen meals.

Now that he decided not to buy any more frozen meals. I am happy for his decision.

We tend to forget how dangerous the convenience foods can be. Let’s not forget the old saying. We are what we eat. When we take our time to prepare our food, cherishing and thanking all the ingredients, the good energy will come into our meal, so that it makes our body healthier and stronger.
