Play-with-me monster 5/29/2018

Since the summer vacation started, I have been chased around by my little play-with-me-monster. I love her so much and I appreciate her to show her interest in playing with me. However, I started feeling overwhelmed, to be honest.

I thought back of my elementary school days. The environment and the situation of mine and hers are totally different.

I never chased after my mom asking to play with me. I never did because I didn’t need to.

I had other playmates. My brother is only 13 months apart from me, and we grew up together like twin siblings. I always had him to hang around. Besides, I had several classmates who lived in our neighborhood.

There was a playground in our small community. Even we didn’t have a promise to meet up there, we naturally gathered up there and played baseball together.

Our town was close to beach. We could walk to the beach with 10 minutes walking. Sometimes we gathered up into a 5 – 6 classmates and went to the beach together. We run around on the beach. We explored the tetrapods, which are four-legged concrete made structures used to prevent coastal erosion. We even swam in the ocean without adult surveillance.

Our town also had a small swamp. It was a fun playground for us too. We gathered up there and enjoyed fishing. We didn’t need to have any store bought fishing poles. We found a twig and tied a small fish as a fishing bait with a string. We used to get a whole bunch of crayfish.

I hope my daughter will find some fun exploring on her own way, but always in a safe way.

Any feedback? (^^♪
