I needed to get a set of a bolt and a nut for our treadmill, so I went to the local hardware store. The store clerk helped me to find them, and I was ready to go to the cashier to pay for them.
Just before my reaching at the cashier counter, two other store clerks beckoned me. Both of them were smiling like a child. Because their smiling faces were cute, I put a smile on my face too and followed them.
When we reached at the certain isle, they both told me “Ta-da!!” They showed me something huge sitting on the store floor.
At first I thought it a huge rock. When I took a close look, I finally noticed they were extremely gigantic pumpkins.
They had put a label of their net weight on each pumpkins. They were “693lb” (314kg) and “382lb” (173kg.)
They were not for sale. One of the two workers bragged that the two huge pumpkins grew at his garden. He just wanted to show them to many people.
While I was watching the huge pumpkins, I thought of the theory of macrobiotics.
In the course, my macrobiotics instructor explained about the energy of yin and yang. Yin is the expansive energy, while yang is the contractive energy.
She talked about the difference between the western people’s land and Asian people’s land. She personally feels that in the western land such as America and Europe, the land energy seems to be yin energy, as their produces as well as the humans living there tend to be grow bigger and taller. On the other hand, in Asian countries, the produces and the humans living there tend to stay compressive as smaller and shorter.

I thought it interesting. Maybe the energy from the center of the Earth influences all the living creatures. In my personal experience, I know many Japanese people who have moved to America have gained their weight within the range of 10 to 20 pounds more than before. That includes myself. I guess I am getting the yin energy from the land and that is why I am gaining weight. I can use this as my excuses from now on.
