New Neighbors 10/29/2018

This summer the people in two houses of our neighborhood moved out. One is across our house, and the other is our next door. Both houses were vacant with a sign of “For Rent” for a while.

Recently new people moved in those houses.

The new tenant of our across are an old couple with a small house dog. The husband is outgoing and friendly. The other day he came up to us to talk with us. We introduced each other. He offered us his help in case we need. He said he was happy to have a nice family like us for his neighbor. We feel the same as he does. We too are happy to have a nice family like them as our neighbor.

As for our next door, one old woman came to talk to me. She was a mother of our new neighbor. Her daughter lives alone in our next door. The mother comes and visits her daughter every weekend to clean the house.

I might be wrong, but I guess she is a single mother who has raised her daughter. She never mentioned about her husband (the daughter’s dad). It seems that the daughter has started living by herself for the very first time. The mother worries and concern about her daughter. That is why the mother visits her daughter every weekend, even though she lives three hours’ drive away from here.

The daughter must be shy. I happened to see only her back. I have never seen the daughter’s face nor never greeted her. It is okay with me. I have talked to the mother. The mother seems to be okay.

I am happy for our new neighbor. We are nice and kind family, so that we deserve to have the similar energy of nice and kind people around us.
