Late last night it started snowing. This morning we were greeted by pure white snow covered all our back yard. It was our first snow in this winter.
But the snow didn’t stay. By 7 am, the rising sun started warming up the area. The ice on the asphalted road was all melted. It looked like just like a normal day.

My husband went for work as normal. When he got to the workplace though, his coworkers told him that the entire workplace was shut down due to the snow. So he could not enter the workplace and had no option but coming back home.
Although the temperature stayed low, it was a nice sunny day in the daytime. Whenever I am home alone, I like to open up all the windows and enjoy the fresh air all around the house. Especially while I am cooking, I like to open at least the kitchen window to let the cooking steam flow out from the house.
Such my little fun time was not available today, while my husband was in the house. He kept the heater on all day and night and did not allow me to leave the windows open. While he complained the coldness, he was wearing only a T-shirt and a shorty cuts, without socks.
This is a weird habit to me, but it seems to be a normal habit for typical Americans. I’ve witnessed many American friends and acquaintances stay wearing light clothing inside the house with the heater on in the entire house. It tells me America is a real rich country.
I felt uncomfortable to stay inside the house with the heater on all day without any fresh air flow.
I secretly hoped for no more shut-down on weekdays.
