This morning we had a zoom meeting. The participants were five of us: the school principal, and the vice school principal, my husband, my daughter, and me. The topic was about my daughter’s upcoming school year.
We have been thinking about the homeschooling for upcoming school year. In Asian countries they already resumed the school session. Some schools were reported a cluster of Covid-19 infection among students. My daughter’s public school buildings are old. Especially at the cafeteria, it is not totally clean environment in both the kitchen and the eating area. Now that my daughter and I have experienced at least eight week’s school session online, we have built solid confidence that my daughter will do just fine in online study environment. So, with these reasons, we wanted to have some advice from the school.
I had solid belief that the vice principal would be a great help for this. He is a dad of two sons. I believed he would give us his honest feeling and advice.
My intuition was right. He was very supportive of our idea. As a matter of fact, he himself has been thinking about the same thing as we have, about his sons. He admitted he might choose homeschooling for his son for upcoming school year. He gave us one public homeschooling website that is officially certified and funded by State.
As a school president, he already proposed to the State governor that this school would have two options. One is the physical school option and the other is the homeschooling option. The students can stay in this public school for the both options. However, it comes with disadvantage. Since the school cannot afford to hire extra teachers for the homeschooling students, the existing teacher will need to take extra hour and efforts for this new program. That implies the teaching quality of the homeschooling option can be lower that the physical schooling option. The school is still waiting for the official approvement from the State. Once it is approved, they can give us more concrete information.
The principal suggested us to search around the online homeschooling program until then. He also assured in case my daughter chooses to come back to the public school from any other options, it will be a simple and easy procedure, so we don’t need to worry about. It was great to talk with them. I appreciate for their kind support.

This morning in my dream I was with my brother at his company. There were other people around us. They were my brother’s employees. We were working on some project and cooperating each other. I was in charge of creating some bamboo baskets. I received great ideas and supports from my brother and his employees. I supported their part of the project too. We successfully completed our project. We threw a party to celebrate our completion. We all were in the good mood.
Then, I woke up.
I am happy that I started spending more time with my brother happily in my dream. Even though it is only in my dream at this moment, I think it is a good starter to reconnect our good relationship.
