Medicine plant 9/4/2020

We woke up again 5 a.m. in the morning. My dad-in-law was already up. He said he had still shoulder and sore muscle on all over his body, but other than that, he felt fine. We were happy to know that he was okay.

After we had breakfast, we continued the corn cake ceremony that was a part of Kinaaldá ceremony. The cake didn’t turn out very well. The majority part was too dry to eat. At least we learned from this mistake, so that we will be able to do much better on our next time. Maybe for my daughter’s daughter in the future.

My dad-in-law had another two patients for prayer. My family and I went to the local museum and the zoo. Unfortunately the workers were there, but they were not open for public.

I cooked curry and rice for everybody. After lunch, my dad-in-law asked us to come with him to the mountain. His patient needed a medicine plant for her cancer.  The mountain area was located two hours away from their house. Since he hit his head last night, he didn’t want to drive there by himself. We offered him help to go there with him.

I remember the area. My dad-in-law took me to this place long time ago before I married to my husband. It was 15 years ago, but the area looked still the same.

My dad-in-law and the patient went to the certain medicine plant and had a ceremony. They offered corn pollen and asked for their permission to use the plant as medicine. The medicine can heal cancer and also, it cleans blood.

The dirt of this area is alkaline and the dirt itself has healing energy. In order to use the medicine plant, we use the root. We soak the root in one gallon of water for 4 days. Then we drink one cup of the tea every morning and night until the one gallon.

In the evening we had an appointment with my dad-in-law’s friend. She is a doctor and also incorporates the Navajo traditional healing method. She is 65 years old. She is knowledgeable and also flexible and open to new idea and healing modalities. Once we move to Navajoland, I want to have get together with her in person. She mentioned she is interested into listening to the Coast to Coast AM radio. Also she is interested in an earthship house. She said there is one earthship house close to our area. I would like to visit their house on our next visit.
