The road to become a house owner (1) 12/3/2020

At the end of last month, one of our neighbor friends moved out. They are an old couple with two dogs. They were renting the house and planning to buy it from the owner. However, last summer, the man argued with his next door neighbor. They ended up with actual punching fighting, even though they are both in their 70s. He never told me the reason why they got fight, but as far as my intuition concerns, the bad guy is his next door neighbor. With the fight, the old couple gave up on buying the current house and decided move out from this area.

On their last day, they showed us their moving house. Their house was slightly smaller than our current house, but I knew they had invested a lot to the house, because they were planning to buy it. They put gravel on both of front and back yards, decorated them very nicely, and planted trees here and there. They replaced the roof. They put shelves throughout the indoor house and the garage. With their many investments, the house looks much better than before.

Their house owner decided to stop renting it and to put it in the market. The list price was reasonable.

We also met a realtor for their house. We could have made an offer to buy this house, but my family and I are still reluctant of moving. We decided to ask our realtor if the house owner of our currently living wants to sell his house to us or not.

The road to become a house owner seems to be long.
