My first 23-Hour-Fasting 3/10/2021

I finished reading a book that was recommended by my massage therapist. “The Diabetes Code: Prevent and Reverse Type 2 Diabetes Naturally” by Jason Fung. The author is a Canadian doctor. He writes in his book that this book is not about diabetes abut about hope. He is right. In the majority books about diabetes, they talk about all the facts that scare diabetic patient without any hopes. On the other hand, his book includes lots of successful stories who completely reversed their diabetes or on their way to reverse. He states many times in his book that diabetes can be reversed with a simple method. Also he states diabetes meditations cannot improve the patents’ condition, which I totally agree from my own personal experiences.

He says the situation of diabetes is similar to the situation of flooded house. People try to get rid of the water inside the house with using a bucket and a mop to suck up the water. His suggestion is to turn off the faucet that keeps the condition the same. Once you turn off the faucet, there will be no more water coming in and making the situation worse. Turning off the faucet is a metaphor of sugar intake. The only solution lays in fasting.

Today I tried a 24-hour-fasting. Last night I had dinner at 4 p.m., so I wanted to wait until 4 p.m. today for my first meal.

I was doing pretty well at the beginning. I never became cranky or suffered from hunger. I think it is because I have continued the intermittent fasting of 16/8 since October 2019. My body gets used to have an empty stomach. However, after 23 hours, around 3 p.m., I started having dull headache and feeling tired. So, I had light dinner.

My goal is to set my daily routine to have only one meal a day. I will make my effort every day. I am pretty sure I can concur this goal. Keep it up–to myself.

In the evening my family and my in-laws; five of us, could talk on Zoom app together. It was real nice to see them laughing happily together. They are planning to visit us in next month. They also decided to go to a vacation with Amtrak and a rent-a-car along the west coast. I hope they will enjoy their late honeymoon.

Update for Moneygram trial.

My husband has been cautious and hesitating to submit the refund request form, because it asks SSN. I personally it is legitimate and safe to provide SSN. We did some research. (1) We talked to the local police office and they sent pone policeman to our house. He was a friendly one and we have known him for many years. He was not sure if this is legitimate or scam. He suggests to keep doing research. We appreciate him for his honest and sincere input. We will still keep doing some more research before we submit the form. (2) We called the Federal Trade Commission (ftc.gov) official phone number. The receptionist confirmed it is legitimate as the trial is posted in their official website. After these two talks, my husband still hesitates to submit the form.
