We have been blessed with lots of rain in our area this year. While we had a dry monsoon last year, this year is a wet monsoon. Our okra started really growing strong.

Today was the last day of Summer School for my daughter. She made two very close friends at this school and they had been together for 7 weeks. The three of them are the same age and will be classmates if my daughter goes back to the public school. My daughter has chosen to continue homeschooling for this year, so they won’t see each other at school. They said they would miss each other and one girl shed tears. I am happy for my daughter to have built such a nice friendship with them. I will think about some plans that they will be able to have time together even after the school starts.

I read one book Black Elk’s Vision: A Lakota Story written by S.D. Nelson. I like the part where the author describes about heyokas; the holy and funny ones who make people laugh.
My favorite part is the author’s comment about the Lakota people. He says “We are not victims of a destiny forced upon us by others. Instead, we are the makers of our people’s future.” Cited from page 43 of Black Elk’s Vision: A Lakota Story.
I agree with him that we are responsible to make a better world for our future generation. I believe everybody should keep it in mind and be responsible on what we say and act, and even what we think. Because everything what we think, say, and act will impact the energy surrounded us and that will create our future.
