Today I called the travel agency and got some information about the trip to Japan.
The direct international flights to my local city in Japan had been canceled due to Covid, but only recently JAL had resumed it only on Saturdays. They used to follow the regulation to have passengers to have a 6-feet away so that the each passenger had one vacant seat next to them. They don’t have the regulation anymore and put all the passengers to sit next to each other. Because the flight was reduced only once a week, the flight has been full.
On the return trip from Japan to America, there is no international flight from my local city. The Japanese government does not allow unvaccinated people to take any public transportation for the first 14 days. It counts from the next day of the arrival day. Therefore, I cannot take Shinkansen or domestic flight from my local city to Tokyo for 15 days. On the return flight, I will have to take 4 flights instead of only 2 flights that I usually need to take.
The fee was increased from the last trip. In my recent trip in October 2019, it cost less than $2,000 for one adult and one child. The fee of this time will be $3,600 that is almost double as the last one.
With these factors, I will not be able to visit my dad in Japan for a while until this chusha mandate situation is over. I really hope many more people will be awaken and know the fact about the chusha and make this crazy situation end.
