First recruiting experience 5/12/2022

Today I recruited two people. It was my very first attempt. I mentioned about my current job asked if they would be interested in joining. Regardless of excitement and expectations, both attempts didn’t go well.

The first person was one of my Reiki students. I haven’t talked with her for at least 8 years. We had a good time on sharing our recent life. It was very natural for her to turn down my invitation. She is 69 years old and currently taking care of her husband who had a stroke and getting weaker than ever. She said she is pretty occupied with taking care of her husband.

The second person was my old friend. We met at the ESL class back in 2009 and became friends. She had been the business owner of a Japanese restaurant for the past 10 years. One of our common friends told me she recently retired from her work. I expected her to take the job opportunity as an insurance producer with me, but she turned down my offer strongly and right away. She is turning to 60 this year and does not wish to get back to busy work days. Since her retirement in last October, she has been enjoying her happy retirement life by shopping around, eating at restaurants, and going to vacations with her husband here and there.

So, two of my first attempts of recruiting didn’t go what I hoped, but I am still thankful that I experienced it. I know I will learn from mistakes and failures and eventually I will reach at the goal at the right timing.
