It was our departure day. This is our routine. We stay at Navajoland for 3 nights/4 days. Personally I like this schedule. If we stay longer than this, I might start feeling irritated for not having my private time and space.
In the morning we visited my husband’s cousin and her family. I am glad my daughter and her children became friends. On the way to her house, as usual Bucker the Chihuahua came along with us. We walked on the narrow path where only one person can get by. My husband walked the first, followed by Bucker, my daughter and me. When we encounter a huge size of branches on the middle of the path, Bucker grabbed the piece of the branches and moved it aside for us. I was amazed what he did to us. He acted like a gentleman to protect us. I thanked him. He seemed to be gently smiling as if he was saying “my pleasure.” It was tough to leave him behind when we left for our house. All of us wished that we could have brought him back with us.
Our return trip went by smoothly. I appreciate my family spirits for protecting us as always.
After we safely returned to our house, we texted my mom-in-law of our safe arrival. She replied back to us about Bucker. After we left, he stayed in front of the trailer house and was whimpering. He knew we left for home and is missing us. My husband said she almost shed tears. We all miss him and want to see him again soon.
