Last weekend I asked one of the potential candidates to join our zoom meeting for signing up the membership of our company. At our last meeting she said she would join our next meeting. Normally she is a quick responder to any form of communications, but not this time. I haven’t received the confirmation from her for the past 3 days. I felt she has been thinking about to make a decision. I didn’t want to push her to make a decision, so I patiently waited for her reply.
This morning she visited me in my dream. She asked me if I have checked the reviews of this company. When I woke up, I was planning to check it, but I forgot about it while I was doing my morning routine. Before 8 a.m., my business mentor asked me if I received her confirmation to join our meeting or not. I asked her to wait until 9 a.m., because I really hesitated to disturb the person. After 9 a.m., I finally received the confirmation from her that she would join our meeting to sign up.
About 10 minutes before our meeting at 5 p.m., I received a text message from her. She asked me the exact same question that she asked me in the dream. Even before I checked the company’s reviews I already knew there would be many bad reviews about this company because of this company’s traits.
I made a phone call to her and told her she didn’t need to sign up for the membership today, if she doesn’t feel like it. She felt better about what I said. Then we both joined our meeting. She asked the same question to my business mentor, and of course my business mentor did her best to persuade her to sign up the membership. She could have joined, if I had her to give a small push…, but I didn’t feel like doing so. So, I offered her to sleep on it instead of rushing to sign it up. I also offered her that we would offer one training seminar to her as a trial, then if she likes it, she can join. She was happy to hear that and our meeting ended.
Later I pondered. I felt good that I didn’t push her to sign up the membership. As a matter of fact I felt awkward to make a sales talk to anybody. I need to find out my best way to recruit without being an aggressive salesperson. The company people suggested me to practice and learn a lot until I feel comfortable to talk about my new business.
