Life is short 8/26/2022

I want to share the story of my neighbors. They were an old retired couple who moved in to our neighborhood before Covid pandemic. The wife was friendly and we chatted from time to time. Recently, maybe sometime in last June, the wife told me she lost her husband from pancreas cancer. She also mentioned she was renting the house at that time and decided to purchase the house. On the next month she did a yard sale almost every day to get rid of her late husband’s items such as his motorcycle, tools, and other personal items. Then one day I saw her garage got completely empty, which used to be fully packed with whole bunch of items. I hadn’t seen the widow for almost a month or so. Just recently the widow was at her garage with a man. They were moving other items from the house to a truck.

Late on that day another neighbor shared the information about the widow. She met a man at her yard sale. They fell in love and started dating. And to our surprise, the widow already moved into the man’s house and started living together. The widow is probably in her middle of 70 years old or even older.

The point is that nobody can say anything bad about her. It is her life and obviously she doesn’t have many years left. She needs to make a quick decision. To me personally, I am happy for her as long as she is happy with the new man. And I am impressed with her braveness to take a quick action.
