My day started with the email from the accountant who works for my dad. He said my dad received some inquiries from Tax Office regarding to the inheritance of my late mom. They wanted to know the detailed reasons why my mom withdraw some money. I remember I escorted my mom while I was visiting her. To be honest, I was upset that my dad asked his accountant to ask me the reason. It was his money and I was nothing to do with it. I am not sure if my dad really does not remember how he had used it or not. I didn’t want to have another big argument with my dad about money. I just simply replied back to the accountant that I don’t know anything about it because I only escorted her. It was their money and I don’t know how they spent it.
Now I know that old people who need somebody’s support need lots of money to get by in their daily life. I witnessed how rapidly my parents spent money by using for the transportation (a taxi), house maid for 8 hours a day every day, their food from a restaurant or a store. The highest costs that they needed to keep paying was the medical fee. I don’t get surprised that my dad spent the big amount of money in a short period of time.
