I stayed up until late at night to attend the reiki gathering started from midnight. There were 41 attendees. most of them are Europeans.
Today our Reiki teacher shared the Japanese term 仕方がない Shikata-ga-nai. This term contains Japanese philosophy to accept things as they are.
仕方がない means “No way means. It is translated as “It cannot be helped.” It may sound as negative and giving up, but the direct translation does not include the real meaning. For Japanese people we don’t take this as negative. It is more like positive. The similar concept is “que sera sera” and “Go with the flow.”
Sometimes things don’t turn out as we expected or as we wished. When we keep cringing on to a certain thing, it makes us to be narrow minded, stressed out, and our vibration gets heavy. So, instead of cringing on to it, sometimes it is a good idea to let it go and let the great spirt take care of it. Once we let it go, we will release ourselves from the heavy stress and that will make us to see things in a wider vision.
仕方がない is to fully understand that there is something invisible exist, which we can call great spirit or something great or god. Once we fully understand that we are well taken care of, we can let our obsession go and let them take care of it. It is really comfortable to live every day without any obsession or stress. We don’t need to tie up ourselves with the thinking like it should be this and that, or I must be this and that.
I think it comes from Japanese ancestor’s way of life. Traditionally we have fully depended on farming. Even though farmers take care of farming, the crops grow with the help of nature such as sun light and rain.
It may appear as a bad thing or a disaster, but eventually it might turn out to be beneficial for us. Because things are constantly changing and as a matter of fact, everything is evolving, changing into a better way, we can just let things go as they are and accept
It is up to an individual to consider this as negative and pessimistic or positive and optimistic.
In the situation where there is nothing you can do about it, we should let it go and let the invisible beings take care of it and believe it is in the good hand of Universe.
Draw a line at a certain point, and from there let it go and move on, and let go and no attachment. Even though this term is nothing special to me, it was a great reminder to remind the deep concept.
