Today I watched the macrobiotic online lecture. It has been for a while since I saw this instructor online last time. She always looks younger than her real age with her skinny fit body. Today she focused on one of the macrobiotics’ important concepts; time. October 4th is 重陽 The Chrysanthemum Festival (The Choyo Festival), which is September 9th, the ninth day of the ninth month, in the old lunar calendar … Especially right now is at the transitional timing of changing season. Choyo is one of the five seasonal festivals in Japan and Japanese ancestors cerebrated it by decorating their houses with of chrysanthemum flowers in order to eliminate any negative energies accumulated in the house.
The instructor mentioned our recent trend is to save time on cooking. Japanese people call it as “時短.” The people are constantly overwhelmed by their busy life and try to cook as fast as they can. The recent trend for cooking is to use a microwave to heat up. But the instructor suggested to use more time in cooking because what we eat really affects our body, mind, and soul. In the kitchen take your time to prepare food by taking to each ingredient, appreciating them, and using gas fire. I totally agree with her. Food is energy that we intake. I want to intake my food with full of appreciations and high vibrations by taking my time in cooking.
