Rowing machine 6/29/2021

Today’s dream: I was with my parents in my parents’ local area in Japan. We were on the top of a hill and looked down to the canyon area. There, it was a construction area for a tall building. It was surrounded by tall skinny trees with lots of green leaves. My dad told it was one of the tall building that he designed all the piping lines. He is proud of his job to support humans’ life line.

Today’s meditation: My family spirits gave me a talking stick. It was nicely decorated with Navajo’s four sacred colors with some eagle feathers. They want to provide me many opportunities to speak up on behalf of them. Whenever an opportunity is provided, they want me to take a couple of deep breathing and relax, and fully trust them, so that they can talk through me. Thank you to my family spirits. I am honored to receive this talking stick.

Last night we were blessed with lots of rain and so it was nice and cool morning this morning.

This evening a rowing machine that I purchased online was finally delivered. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but it was delayed due to post office’s mistake or something. My husband assembled it for me. My daughter and I exercised 50 times each before we went to bed. Our body was warmed up and the blood circulated nicely so that we fell asleep right away.

Learning about Navajo’s old way of living 6/28/2021

Today’s my 5-hour alone time while my daughter was out to summer school went by so quickly. I am still reading the book; Tall woman: the life story of Rose Mitchell, a Navajo woman written by Rose Mitchell.

This book contains lots of interesting memories of the author. I have been really enjoying reading this book,

The author had 12 children. It was common for women to give a big number of children birth those days. She mentioned some of her children including herself didn’t go to school because their parents needed the child’s help to take care of sheep, goats, and other cattle. She named her first daughter as Mary and the second daughter too as Mary, so they had 2 Marys. I thought it interesting that she named one of the daughters Chubby Woman and named the daughter born after Chubby Woman as Beautiful Woman. The two girls grew up close to each other.

The author kept on having a baby for many years. It is interesting that the author and her oldest daughter had their baby around the same time, like a couple of months apart, so the babies grew up like twins even though they were in an uncle/aunt and nephew/niece relationship. And it happened twice. One time when the author got infected from a rattlesnake’s bite and needed to stay in a hospital for a month, the author asked her daughter to nurse her baby together with her baby. When the author came back from the hospital, she was happy to see the two babies were nice and fat in a healthy state. It was a cute story.

I like the part where the author mentioned about one of the old traditional ways. It was to break a pot over the child’s head to fix a child’s stuttering. One of the author’s children stuttered when he was about to be sent to school. The boy got scared and refused to use the traditional way, but the author’s mother did it anyway. When she held a pottery over the boy’s head and broke it by hitting the pottery with a wooden stick, the boy was surprised and scared. But amazingly this method worked. The boy’s stuttering was fixed right away and he never stuttered.

Cherish even chore and routine 6/27/2021

Today’s dream: I was building a house by scrap woods and waste materials with my family. The house turned out to be a gorgeous house. Then I woke up. I know this dream brings good messages to me.

During the meditation, my late mom showed me of her daily routine while she was alive. When she woke up, she went to the toilet to release, the bathroom to wash her face, went to the kitchen to cook breakfast, went to the washing machine to start laundry, went back to the bathroom to put make up on her face, and went back to the bedroom to change from a pajama to nice clothes for public. She does not need to do all kinds of those anymore at this moment in the Spirit World. She told me she misses those daily chores and routines. She said all those things that we do naturally while we live will turn to something we will miss once we go back to the Spirit World. And so, she told me to enjoy everything in every moment while I am here on this Earth. She told me everything is a precious experience. She told me with her big smile. I am happy to know she is enjoying being where she is currently at, and communicating with me in my meditation state. I appreciate her wisdom and constant love to me. Thank you Mom. I will follow your advice and enjoy every moment on this Earth while I can.

I read three books Trail of Tears written by Joseph Bruchac, Many Nations: An Alphabet of Native America written by Robert F. Goetzl, and Super Simple Native American Art: Fun and Easy Art from Around the World written by Alex Kuskowski.

The first book is written a history of Trail of Tears that Cherokee People went through in 1838. It is written in easy English for children, but it was difficult for me to read it through because of the content. It describes how White people lied and stole the houses, plantation, and land from Cherokee people. It is sad to know some rich Cherokees acted like White people and betrayed their own people. I didn’t know about the fact that some white Americans supported the Cherokees by writing articles in newspapers and sending letters and petitions, which were all ignored by the government. I was surprised to read that each Cherokee was given an allowance of $65.88 to cover the cost of moving to west. I wonder if Navajo people was given any allowances to move to Fort Sumner. I never read something like that for Navajos.

The second book is a picture book for young children. I love the beautiful illustrations.

The third book contains the instruction for young children to create art crafts. This book reminds me of my elementary school days. I enjoyed creating art crafts.

Quiet summer day 6/26/2021

Today’s dream: My okras in our garden were growing healthily. Then I woke up.

In the morning we went for the canyon hiking as usual. When we arrived at the parking lot, there was only one car parked before us. Even after we were done hiking and came back to the parking lot, there were still not many cars parked unlike usual. It was a little bit freaky. I don’t know why people stopped coming to the hiking area anymore.

In the afternoon I kept enjoying reading the book; Tall woman: the life story of Rose Mitchell, a Navajo woman written by Rose Mitchell.

I liked reading the part where she mentioned about Old Man Hubbell known as Man with the Eyeglass at Hubbell Trading Post in Ganado. She described him as the nicest man ever. He always gave the People extra for what they traded, a place to stay whenever they needed to stay overnight, and something for the trader’s wives and children. The Wikipedia says about him as “He was well respected in the Navajo community for his fair dealings with them.” It is very nice to know that there was a nice Non-Navajo back then. I personally have good memories about this trading post because my boyfriend and I often visited and I bought lots of books and jewels from them. This place is where my Navajo dad is originally from.

In the evening my PC screen suddenly became black with some error messages. I got scared of losing all the data in my PC, but luckily it came back to normal after turned OFF and turned ON. I have been using this PC since 2011. It has been 10 years. I love this PC very much and hope it will keep working well for me.

I received a postcard notice telling me that my business trade name will expire in 60 days. I was surprised that it has been almost 5 years since I established my small business in August 2016.

Okra replanted to a garden bed 6/25/2021

Today’s dream: I was with my family and friends whom I don’t know in the physical world. Maybe they were my family spirits. We were standing at the top of the steep skiing slope and started skiing on the slope. Even though it was in the dream state, I actually enjoyed so much for feeling the high speed and the cold winter breeze. Awesome.

In the early morning my family and I replanted our okra plants in the paper coffee cups to our bigger garden bed. I hope they will grow healthily and produce lots of okra just like last year.

I received an email notice of my yesterday’s lab test result. I appreciate the speedy notice. It was 6.8. It was the evidence that I have been making efforts every day considering that the result in last December; 6 months ago was 7.8, then the result of this March; 3 months ago was 7.6. I will keep making efforts to keep my good health.

A hint of Monsoon 6/24/2021

I woke up early in the morning as usual, went for a morning walk in the neighborhood, and run at the treadmill. After I got a good amount of sweat, I took a shower. I was ready for the lab test.

My appointment went through very quickly. I didn’t need to wait for long. And the nurse didn’t come to check my vital (body temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen level). I was little disappointed because I wanted to see how my blood pressure does. I am sure it should be good.

The test result will come back possibly tomorrow or next Monday at the latest. I am looking forward to hearing a great news of my recent A1C result. I hope it will be 6.2.

This week we have rains and rain clouds in the afternoon. Even though we haven’t heard the official announcement yet, monsoon season has started or almost there.

Vertical line on the Mount of Saturn in my palm 6/23/2021

I noticed a new line appeared in my palm. It is a vertical line on the Mount of Saturn in my right palm. This line shows that I have been diligently working on something and making lots of efforts. This line also shows good luck in wealth and brings a great success and achievement. Indeed I have been making efforts in many different things. I promised to my family spirits that I will keep making efforts in many things and keep improving my spiritual awareness until my last day of this lifetime.

Since yesterday I started watching a Navajo elder’s YouTube videos; Navajo Traditional Teachings. He started uploading his video since 2017 and posted 148 video clips so far. I am planning to watch all his videos with taking notes. His video clips contain his and his tribe’s wisdom. I appreciate him for sharing his knowledge and wisdom with us younger generation people.

Sedona tour’s introduction gathering 6/22/2021

At 5 p.m., I attended the zoom meeting for the upcoming Sedona tour’s introduction. There were 30 people registered to the tour and the host expected to have them all attended, but there were only 19 people attended to today’s meeting.

The host asked the Reiki teacher to talk about Gaman. He asked me to speak something about Gaman, but I misheard what he said. I just said Gaman is patience. I should have added something in my mind without being shy. Thank you to the teacher for giving me the opportunity to speak up, and sorry for not saying anything today. I will get used to speak in front of people more often. Please provide me more opportunities in the future gatherings too.

What I wanted to share with everybody was like this.

Gaman is to keep faith and trust. I believe everything happens for reasons and everything has its own best timing. In order for a thing to happen at the best timing, we have to patiently wait for the best timing. Sometimes it does not happen at the timing we expect. It may not happen the way as we expect.

The Reiki teacher explained Gaman like this.

Gaman is a Japanese virtue. We know in nature that everything is impermanent and that is why everything is precious. One of his favorite tea ceremony terms is Ichigo-Ichie. It means once in a lifetime. Nothing stays the same. Everything happens in this world is unique and precious.

I always like how he explains things.

Toward the end, one attendee asked the teacher what she should prepare for the tour. The teacher answered to her with his policy; His policy is no preparation. Then the host chimed in and asked to come with open-minded and flexibility as all the attendees are diversity in nationality and culture. I think it is the great advice.

During the gathering, there was a part where I really wanted to give a big applause to my Reiki teacher. When the host mentioned to the Reiki teacher about the area that used to be Native American’s sacred area between Sedona and Phoenix, my Reiki teacher commented her in a loud voice like this. Remember, the sacred area is not only that area, but the entire America used to belong to Native Americans. I still cannot speak up like he does whenever needed. This is one of the parts I respect my Reiki teacher that he can speak up whenever he needs to do so.

I always enjoy participating in this group. Thank you everybody for having me in the group.

Better working conditions 6/21/2021

After I dropped my daughter off at school in the morning, I started enjoying my alone time. I started off my 30-minute meditation. While I was enjoying visiting my family spirits in the spirit world, my conscious was pulled back to the physical world. I heard the bell’s tinkling sound at the entrance door. I hang some small bells at the entrance door so that I can be alert if somebody tries to open the entrance door.

My conscious came back to my physical body. I found my husband at the entrance door. He said he needed to come back home to finish up the orientation procedure for his new company. I was glad to know that he didn’t bring back any bad news. I kind of scared for the reason why he came back unexpectedly early from work.

Today was his first day for a new company. He had worked for the previous 6 months for the agency under the restricted conditions. It was like a trial term for the company to trust him. Under the bad working conditions from this agency, they don’t pay for the federal holidays and they don’t offer any health related insurances for the employees. Now that he has earned his trust in his job, he was transferred to a good company. I am happy for him to be able to move to a better conditioned company.

Today’s mediation: I went to see one of my past lives. I saw myself in a buckskin dress. I was slender with long beautiful straight hair. I didn’t decorate my dress or hair. I lived very simple life. I often spent my time sitting down on the ground and communicating with nature and holy people. In my adulthood, I fell in love with a man, but he was in a different tribe. My parents didn’t allow us to marry. My parents and relatives arranged one man in the same tribe as my husband. My husband and I were blessed with our children and I had a simple and happy life with my family.

In the past life I didn’t live my life as I wished. Everything, even my husband, was provided. From the experience from this past life of living a life in which I always received, I chose this life to be different from the past. In this lifetime, I can choose to get what I want. I can choose to speak up my opinion. I choose to change the same pattern as my past lives.

Old people’s way of living 6/20/2021

I started reading the book; Tall woman: the life story of Rose Mitchell, a Navajo woman written by Rose Mitchell.

It is interesting to know how the old days’ of life; life of her grandparents before the U.S. Cavalry came was. At that time The People needed to move around and hide from their enemies of Ute, Apache, Pueblos, and Mexicans. The women used to have many children but not all of them grew up to adult or old age. Many children died in baby or young. At that time it was their custom for sisters to share one husband. Since they lived away from the hospital, when somebody got sick, they relied on a hand-trembler for diagnose and then go to a singer for prayers and ceremonies.

When she was young, there was no wells. They needed to dig a hole for water. There was no store to buy a bucket, so they used the skin of a young goat to carry water. She and her family ate rabbits, prairie dogs, and wild nuts and berries. Most of them walked around without shoes because buckskin was not always available for everybody.

It is interesting to know how old people used to live. It is not very old, but just 100 years ago, our great-grandparents’ age.
