Juneteenth; a new federal holiday 6/19/2021

Today is a new Federal holiday; Juneteenth commemorating the end of slavery.

In the morning my family and I went to the canyon hiking. There were only two cars before us. Even after we were done hiking and about to leave the parking lot, not many cars were parked

In today’s meditation, I asked my family spirits about my people phobia.

I saw full moon. Then I saw myself in one of my past lives communicating with stars and moon in the night sky. In the past life I served my entire life to be a messenger from spirits. To me, it is easy to communicate with divine beings because they don’t lie. Their natural self is pure and easy to understand. On the other hand, humans lie and some of them are mood swingers that makes me hard to fully understand. That is why my original self likes to communicate with the nature and divine beings. I feel relaxed and comfortable whenever I stay alone in the nature. My family spirits told me I don’t need to adjust myself to be around and with a whole bunch of people if I don’t feel comfortable. Rather, I should be selective to people whom I can fully stay being myself and feel comfortable. I don’t need to compare with anybody else. I am unique and different from others and I should be proud of being myself. Their messages really make sense to me. That was what I needed to hear today. Thank you to my family spirits for our great advice and encouragement.

Puppy give away 6/18/2021

Today’s dream: I ate some snack with my family. The snack contained Umeboshi and some nuts such as walnuts and almond. Then my husband and I rode a bicycle. He pedaled and I sat on the back seat. We run so fast on the freeway as well as on the dirt roads. We enjoyed the ride. I didn’t feel scared of the high speed. At the certain point, my husband told me he would go alone before me. We promised to meet each other somewhere on the road. I didn’t feel uneasy for separating, because I was fully confident that we would definitely find each other soon. Then I woke up.

My daughter shared her dream. Her family spirits told her she would meet her right partner in 2023. I still remember she told me when she was still very small like 5 years old or so. She told me her right partner had been already born to this Earth 3 years before her as a Navajo boy. I wonder when and how they will meet each other. I look forward to their romantic meeting in the near future.

In the morning when I stopped by at Walmart for shopping, I saw a couple sitting down under the tree in the parking lot. They had a sign says Free Puppies.

They had five puppies to give away. They were 7 weeks old, a mix of pit bill and blue heeler. My husband held one of them, the one of grey haired with blue eyes. The puppy seemed to like my husband very much. He was calm in his arm and wagging his tail. Even though we liked the puppy very much, we decided not to take him because of our current situation. The puppy tried to follow my husband. He was super cute.

Chat with a new friend 6/17/2021

I finished reading the novel book Soldier Sister, Fly Home written by Nancy Bo Flood. It took me 6 days to complete reading this book. I like the latter part where the main character and her grandma spent several days in the sheep camp. It reminds me of the days when my Navajo friend took me to his mother’s sheep camp. It was the middle of nowhere. Just us and animals. There I felt very close to spirits. We enjoyed looking at stars in the night sky. The air was fresh and the land energy was high. Reading this book made me eager to go back to Navajoland. We will go back there in August. I can’t wait for our next visit.

At 5:45 p.m., I met my new friend on Zoom. We met on the last Reiki share gathering. After the gathering, I received an email from the host and told me one of the attendees would like to contact me. That was how we started talking. She would host my Reiki teacher to Sedona in this October and wanted to know if I was interested in joining them.

We started off introducing ourselves. It was nice getting to know her more. I want to attend my Reiki teacher’s class. I will need to figure it out the best way for me and my family. I trust everything will go smoothly for the best way for us.

Self-healing workshop 6/16/2021

Early this morning I had a workshop to attend. Last night after the Reiki share gathering ended at 7:15 p.m., I was still excited about the powerful energy I received. I needed to walk them off so that I went for an evening walk. Then I took a quick shower and went to bed. It was a hot night and I had a tough time to fall asleep.

I set two of my alarm clocks; one at 2:55 a.m. and the other at 3 a.m. I woke up with the first alarm clock and turned off the second one. And without thinking, I fell back to sleep. But thankfully my family spirits had my back. I managed to wake up with the subtle sound of shaking the bedside table. I knew it was definitely made by somebody from my family spirits because there was no earthquake or anything in this area to shake the table. I asked my daughter later on who helped me to wake up. My daughter saw my maternal grandma raised her hand and smiled. Thank you Fude-obaachan for waking me up.

With my grandma’s support, I attended the Self-healing workshop at 3:30 a.m. There were 16 attendees.

This workshop contained 2 parts; lecture and meditation.

I want to share the three self-healing techniques that resonated with me.

(1) The instructor emphasized the breathing, especially focusing on breathing out.

(2) She also shared her experience of fasting. She has done a fasting for several years now, and her body gets used to it. She said she just finished her annual long term fasting of 18 days. I was amazed on the length. She said she took 3 of Umeboshi (pickled plum) and 200 ml of Amazake (fermented rice drink) daily. I agree with her that fasting is one of the greatest technique for self-healing.

(3) She told us the importance to give a permission to ourselves. “I allow myself to have great miracles to happen very often.” “I allow myself to be loved by people and spirits.” “I allow myself to recognize my spiritual gifts.”

Toward the end of the workshop, we did the instructor’s guided meditation.

When we were guided to walk on a bridge to the Spirit World, I saw the bridge with a various colors of pink, purple, bright light blue, yellow, and brown. Maybe I needed to receive the energies of these colors to heal and compensate my energy.

My guide spirit appeared in a gentle mother figure. She was holding a baby girl in her arms and passed the baby to my arms. She told me the baby girl represents a pure heart, lots of laughter, and healthy body. She told me to make everything to simple. Simply live, simply laugh, simply trust myself and others, simply intake necessary foods, and simply digest them. I think it was a nice gift and messages. Thank you to my family spirits.

Reiki share gathering 6/15/2021

I attended the online Reiki sharing at 5 p.m.

There was a minor issue before I could log in to the meeting. My teacher invited me to this meeting and sent me the meeting ID and the passcode, but unfortunately he gave me the wrong information. Maybe he typed by himself instead of “copy and paste” and one digit of the ID was missing. I knew my teacher does not check his email constantly. He probably checks it every morning, but due to the big volume of emails he receives, I cannot expect him to reply back right away. Luckily he told me the host’s name and her city and country. I could easily find her in my teacher’s FB friends. And, to my surprise, the host and I have already become friends some years ago. I normally reject anybody whom I don’t know in person, but for some reasons, I accepted her friend request at that time. I contacted her and she quickly replied back to me with the correct meeting ID and passcode. That was how I could join the meeting on time.

It was very nice to see my reiki teacher through Zoom. There were 40 attendees from North America, South America, Canada, Myanmar, and Australia. The host was an Australian woman. My Reiki teacher spoke English. Some of them were Spanish language speakers so one woman interpreted from English to Spanish. I liked this diversity. They all seemed to be nice and open-minded people.

We started off from introducing the new attendees including me. The teacher led us to say the Reiki originator’s Gokai (五戒) and perform the self-healing. Then we proceeded to give Reiki healing to the people who have requested in advance. There were11 people who wanted to receive Reiki healing energy. We gave Reiki for 3 minutes to each person, so by the time it turned to the last person, we all were tired. During the Reiki session, I felt one of my family spirits were enjoying this gathering and giving the people Reiki healing energy with me. Once in a while I saw a vision. He appeared in a young male figure. He had a handsome face and a well-fit body. I guess he is my son-in-spirit. I appreciate his support.

The latter part of the gathering started off from Q&A session. One attendee asked the teacher about how he consider Covid-19 and the vaccination. I really liked his answer. He considers Covid-19 is a blessing in disguise. It is a process to get better for all of us. I totally agree with him. Instead of always talking about the negative sides of anxiety and worry about Covid-19, it will be helpful if we switch to focus on the positive sides and benefits brought to human beings. There are so many blessings and lessons learned for us during this pandemic. We should keep having a faith and focus on the positive future after this pandemic. He also talks about vaccination. He said that it was his personal decision and every individual should make their own decision and that he personally is not planning to take the vaccine. He might take it eventually not at least not right now. He wants to wait and observe. I totally agree with his decision in this matter too. I know not everybody can agree with our decision and it is fine with me. I am not going to push my decision to anybody, and I want other people to do the same as me; respect each individual’s decision and not to force anybody anything.

Then the teacher started talking about Wabi Sabi (侘び・寂び). All of a sudden he asked me to talk about Wabi Sabi of my opinion. I appreciated him for giving me the precious opportunity to express my knowleage. I tried to explain of what I think of Wabi Sabi. I mentioned about Japanese philosophy. We believe in Animism. We consider there are so many gods and spirits everywhere and we respect all of them. One example of Wabi Sabi that I think is a cold winter morning when our breath gets white. I think the moment is holy and in awe. I respect and enjoy the moment given by nature and gods. I think it is one example of Wabi Sabi. The holy and precious moment. It is hard to describe in words because it is something that shows our way of traditional thinking and living.

One of a Canadian man who has lived in Japan agreed and commented nicely about what I said. I really appreciated him for doing so. He also added it is a philosophy of Japanese traditional tea ceremony.

Then the teacher continued of the interpretation and explanation of Wabi Sabi. He said it is beauty in impermanence. He also explained our traditional culture of Ichigo Ichie (一期一会). Everything in this Universe has been changing and evolving. Nothing and no one can stay the same. That is why we should value each moment. And that is the philosophy of Wabi Sabi.

I was in awe on how the teacher explained beautifully. It covers the question about the current pandemic situation too. I was so proud for being his student and that I chose him as my Reiki teacher.

The gathering ended at 7:15 p.m. It was over 2 hours gathering with a whole bunch of positive energy and teachings. I fully enjoyed this gathering and look forward to the next one in next month. My great appreciations and respect goes to my Reiki teacher and everybody in this group.

Rested 6/14/2021

Right after noon time, while I was enjoying my alone time, I received a phone call. I didn’t recognize the number so I didn’t answer it. It called twice, and on the second call, I received a voice message. It was from the school staff informing my daughter has abdominal pain and wants to come back home.

I quickly got ready and jumped in my car. According to my daughter, it only took 4 minutes for me to get there to pick her up. It was my record on how quickly I picked her up.

I feel blessed that I am available for my daughter whenever she needs me. I will enjoy every moment in raising her as childhood days go so quickly.

Wisdom from elders 6/13/2021

It was a dry hot summer day. The temperature went up to 40C (104F.) I heard we are having a heat wave for a couple days.

I have been enjoying reading the novel book Soldier Sister, Fly Home written by Nancy Bo Flood.

Even though this is a fiction novel, it talks about the first Native American woman to die in combat. I remember about her. When I went to the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow in Albuquerque in 2003 with my female Navajo friend, the MC mentioned about her at the opening ceremony. We all the audience and the performers took a moment to send a good prayer for her and her family.

I like the part where the main character and her grandma encounter two rude Bilagáanaa sisters pointing finger at the grandma and asking for a picture with a real “Indian”. If I were there I would get pissed at the rude sisters and say something very mean to make them regret or something. But the grandma acted wisely. She accepts them and gives her warm hospitality in return.

Here is her statement.

“When somebody looks down on you, listen and learn. Walk with them….We can learn or bite. Laughing is better for the belly.” cited from Chapter 11; Soldier Sister, Fly Home.

I always like to hear elders who have lots of wisdom accumulated through their lives.

Produce from the local community garden 6/12/2021

In the morning my family and I went to the canyon hiking. We stopped by at the grocery store and came back home. Right after we brought our shopping items in the house, our friend’s car parked in front of our house. She was at the right timing to stop by. She brought us one grocery bag full of fresh produce. She worked as a volunteer at the local community garden and picked up some produces for us. She invited us to the garden and we all drove there.

Their garden was doing great. It is a non-profit community garden and started three years ago. This year they expanded the garden space much more than the previous years. We received some shares of produces of UFO zucchini, green zucchini, chard, yellow squash, and basil.

We had some produces for dinner. I could feel their high vibration even when I was cutting them. They tasted so good and fresh.

In the evening I read two books.

White Nose the Sheep Dog written by Thomas, Marjorie W. – This book is a bilingual book containing English and Navajo. The story is very cute. The main character is a puppy whose nose is white. My daughter and I loved this story.

The Precious Gift: A Navaho Creation Myth written by Ellen Jackson (Author), Woodleigh Marx Hubbard (Illustrator) – This book talks about the Navajo myth about the water carrier Snail. I want to say thank-you to a snail for bringing water from the underworld when I see it next time.

Reconnected with Reiki teacher 6/11/2021

Recently I visited Reiki teacher’s online announcement page. He posted 2 months ago of the announcement of his online Reiki study group. I wished if I had known this announcement beforehand so that I could have attended it. I don’t go to his announcement page often. As a matter of fact, I hadn’t visited his announcement page for several years.

So I emailed my teacher to let me know if he has any online events coming up. In his reply, he invited me his online Reiki sharing gathering on upcoming Tuesday. I am happy for still being able to communicate with him and being able to see him online event next week.

No facial mask required anymore 6/10/2021

Last night our local city council had a regular meeting. They set a new regulation that a facial mask is not required in our local community anymore. The school has announced the students that they would not need to wear a facial mask anymore.

Today was the Day-1 of the new regulation. I wanted my daughter to still keep wearing a facial mask for safety, and my daughter agrees to do so. She saw many other students also still kept wearing a facial mask as their parents feel the same way as I do. I am glad to hear that people feel the same way as I do and still keep caution.

Today was the first day for my daughter to jump in the swimming pool of this summer. We didn’t go to the swimming pool all summer last year because we concerned about Covid-19. I am glad she had a good time with her friends in the swimming pool.
