Yesterday while I was laying down on the bed with my daughter, she stared at my mouth. She told me one of my teeth had a crack.

At first I thought she was just joking. I didn’t take it seriously.

Late at night I remembered what my daughter said. I looked at my teeth in the mirror.

I was shocked at what I saw.

She was right. My upper left tooth, next to canine, had a big crack starting from the top ended in the middle of it. I didn’t have any pain, but I worried about it.

I woke up with a weird dream. In my house there was a tiny mice. My dad-in-law got rid of it.

I looked up the meaning of the dream on the Internet. One website says a tiny mice usually represents the dreamer’s concern or worry. When the tiny mice was gotten rid of, the dreamer will be able to avoid the trouble.

My dream reflected my concern about the cracked tooth.

I called the dental office in the morning to see if the doctor could see me today. Luckily the doctor was in the office today. They made an appointment of diagnosis for the cracked tooth in this morning.

At the dental office, they tool some X-lays on my cracked tooth. The doctor said it was just the old filling came off and it should be fine for a while. He wants to put a crown on the tooth next week.

The receptionist gave me a quotation of the crown treatment. I was shocked at the amount. It was beyond $1,000. My insurance company will pay some, but I will still need to pay my part, which will be more than $500. The receptionist made an appointment on Thursday morning in following week.

I am reluctant to have a crown. The dentist will drill most of my tooth to do so.

The other day I purchased a DNA test kit. I am not very much interested in my ancestry, because I will be in high percentage of Japanese lineage. This company focuses on the health. So, my main reason to try out this DNA test is to know my health condition.

Yesterday the kit arrived. I need to swab my inner cheek for 60 seconds with the attached Q-tip as a test sample. The instruction says not to eat or drink 30 minutes prior to take the test sample.

This morning, right after I woke up and before I ate breakfast, I took my test sample.

This afternoon I sent the test sample to the lab.

I look forward to the test results report. The company says it will take 4-6 weeks.

My mom had a surgery on June 12th, which was yesterday of my time. Right before I fell asleep I asked my family spirits to protect her during the surgery.

In my dream I felt my soul departed my physical body to go see my mom. I also felt my mom did the same; her soul departed her physical body and freely visited here and there to any places where she wanted to visit.

When I woke up from my dream state, I had a good feeling. I felt my mom’s surgery went well.

I knew after the surgery, my mom needed to have enough sleep to rest. So I waited until today and emailed her about her health condition.

I wanted to call her and hear her voice, but my mom asked me to communicate with emails.

Last time when I talked with my mom on the phone while she was in the hospital room, the nurse came into the room right away worrying about my mom. So, that was why my mom wanted to avoid talking on the phone.

My mom is staying in a private room, and she is officially allowed to use her cell phone to talk. So, nothing is wrong with her talking on the phone. But she doesn’t want to make the nurses worry about her while she is talking on the phone.

Anyways, my mom replied back to me right away. She said her surgery went well.

The next line surprised me.

She said the doctor told her to walk around in the hospital, instead of staying laying down on the bed.

I was happy to know my mom can already walk around even right after the surgery.

She also mentioned about my dad. He is satisfied with the maid’s work for him.

I am glad everything is going well for both of my parents.

My daughter’s school offers breakfast and lunch during the summer break for free of charge to kids. Toady’s lunch was my daughter’s favorite menu, so I took her to the cafeteria.

Today’s menu was called “walking taco.” Both of my husband and I have never heard of it. I was curious about it.

The lunch lady opened up the bag of Doritos. She put some cooked ground beef and shredded cheese in the bag. She served it with pinto beans and chopped vegetables in the plate.

They shake the bag and eat with fingers. Since I am not a child, I was not served. I didn’t eat it but it looked good.

It makes sense to me about the name of “walking.” People can eat it walking by fingers. It was interesting to know. It is similar to our Onigiri for Japanese people. Both can be light snack and easy to eat.

I had my monthly period. I am glad it came regularly this month. Last month it came one week earlier than the scheduled day, so I have concerned it might be the starting point of menopause.

I felt tired and dizzy all day today. I lay down myself on bed, and within some seconds, without knowing by myself, I fell asleep.

When I woke up, I was shocked to know I had taken a nap for one hour. It was not my intention.

That being said, it was a moment of bliss to take a nap in a hot summer afternoon.

Now that we had cleaned our backyard, there were many piles of dried weeds. We wanted to burn them.

We went to the local fire department and asked for the permission to burn weeds at our backyard.

We signed up the form for the permission. The permission is already typed the duration as for two years starting from January 1st of 2018 and ending December 31st of 2019.

The instruction says before we start burning weeds, we are required to call and inform the local fire department. If the wind is 10 miles per hour or higher, we are not allowed to build a fire.

The time for burning weed is set from 6 am to 5 pm. The receptionist said it does not include a small campfire as a get together with family and friends. We can built a small campfire at night anytime. We don’t need to inform them in advance. It was good to know because I didn’t know about that.

Today was nice day without strong winds. We informed the fire department before we started the fire.

We used a fire pit to burn weeds. It was a fun process for cleaning up our backyard.

Previously we used to but the dried weeds in a garbage bag. We needed to cut them in small pieces in several bags. Burning weeds is much easier process than the previous process.

This morning I was cleaning the back yard. There were dried up tree branches here and there, so I was picking them up. These skinny branches will be perfect sizes for a campfire. I am going to save them for our Japanese friends. While they are here in next month, we can enjoy a campfire at night in our backyard.

I was careless while I was walking around in my backyard. I just wore a pair of beach sandal with barefoot. One of the skinny sharp branches cut my ankle. It was a deeper cut than I thought.

My husband took a look of my wound. He said I should not go to the swimming pool this afternoon. My wound might get worse if any external germs come in through the cut.

I was a little disappointed because I was looking forward to jumping in the cold pool. I guess I should rest up so that my wound will heal quickly.

The good thing is though, I collected a good amount of skinny branches. Our backyard looked better.

This morning I had a clear dream. I had a long tangled code with me. I didn’t like staying in the tangled code so that I started trying to untangle it. I could untangle it quicker and easier than I thought.

Then I woke up.

It definitely was the message from my family spirits.

The message is I can solve any issues only if I face it diligently.

Today is my dad’s birthday. It might be the message for him too. I know he has untangled and solved many troubles and issues by himself in all his life. I respect him for that.

I learned the recipe of fermented water in my macrobiotic online course. I made it one week ago. Now my fermented water looks like done.

I have taken care of it every day. Every time I added the water that has been used to wash rice, as well any edge or skins of vegetables and fruits. Every morning I stirred it gently.

It smells like miso. It does not have too much bubbles on the surface of the water. The recipe contains 8% of salt, so the salt prevents the water from getting too much fermented.

Today I used my fermented water in the fried egg. The egg turned out soft and fluffy. Not to mention, it tasted much better.

I also used the vegetables and fruits that have been soaked in the fermented water for miso soup. It also tasted good.

Tomorrow I am going to use it to wash my hair.

I like my fermented water. I will use it in my daily life. I appreciate my macrobiotic instructor to share this helpful recipe.

I watched the Japanese television show of medical information. They focused on fatty liver disease. It is a disease of liver and hard to find from lab test results. People get this sickness even though their liver related values are within the normal range.

One doctor mentioned it can be noticed from the ALT and AST values. A healthy person’s AST value is higher than that of ALT, but if it is the other way around, the person’s liver may have fatty parts developed.  

I reviewed my lab test results. My ALT values of recent years were higher than that of AST.

It was shocking to know, but I need to face it. 

The doctor said “in order to wash out an oil stain, you need to use oil.” She recommended to intake a spoonful of flaxseed oil every day.

I bought it at the local grocery store. I started taking it from today. I really hope it helps to wash out my fatty part in my liver.
