Sprained ankle 10/20/2019

My family and I went to the orchard and the farm. At the orchard, we picked Asian pears. At the farm, we picked a various types of fresh vegetables. It is always fun to pick fresh produces from the farm and trees.

When we were almost done picking up vegetables that I was planning to pick, I saw okra trees. They looked almost dried up. The majority of okra grew too huge to eat. I wanted to get some fresh ones so I walked deep between the trees.

I was careless. I didn’t look at the ground at all. The okra trees were planted with a deep ditch that I didn’t notice. Then, I sprained my right ankle in the ditch.

At first I thought I was okay. My husband and daughter asked me if I was okay. I smiled at them and said I was okay.

However, on the next second, I had a panic attack.

Luckily the okra field was located very close to the rest area where they had benches with shades. Also they had a bathroom right next to the benches.

I sat down on the bench because I could not keep standing. I didn’t feel any pain in my ankle, but other parts of my body showed panicking.

My vision got blurry. I had lots of sweat all over my body. My heart beat rapidly. My both hands were uncontrollably shaking. I got nausea. I had headache. I felt like I was floating.

With the help of my family, I somewhat could walk back to our car.

After I came back home, I put a leaf of cabbage to cool off my swollen ankle.

The last time I sprained my ankle was when I was 15 years old. My body got shocked with the sudden pain and probably that was why my body had a panic attack.

I needed to cancel the appointment with my friend. She and I were planning to go for a long distanced walk this evening. I hope my ankle will recover soon. Sorry to my body cells and thank you for working hard to recover.

Family vacation Day-2 10/19/2019

We woke up in the luxurious hotel room. We all slept very well.

We went down to the cafeteria and enjoyed hot breakfast. Then we enjoyed the outdoor heated swimming pool and the Jacuzzi. We stayed for one hour, but nobody came. We enjoyed the private outside pool.

After checked-out, we enjoyed some stops in the city. It was a very nice short vacation.

In the evening I talked with my mom on the phone.

My mom’s voice tone sounded very healthy. It was obvious that her body didn’t need a chemotherapy treatment. Because, after she stopped it, she has gotten much, much better than before.

I am so happy that she is doing well. I am so happy to hear that my dad is also doing well.

I keep sending their good and positive image to the Universe. 

Family vacation Day-1 10/18/2019

Since my daughter has been in the autumn break this week, we wanted to do something fun for her. So, my family and I went for one night vacation.

We reserved one night at a luxurious hotel. Our destination was not too far. It was only 1.5 hour away from our house.

It was our first time to stay at this hotel. It was much better than we expected.

Our room was a sweet room. It had a bedroom and a living room with a kitchenette. It had a private balcony. And it also equipped with was a huge Jacuzzi tub.

I wanted to go to the state park after checked-in. There was a state park located close to the hotel. It was only 14 minutes away according to Google Map. Then in the night I wanted to go to the planetarium show starting at 7 p.m. The planetarium was located just a 30-minutes’ drive away. On the other hand, my husband and daughter wanted to relax at the hotel without going anywhere.

We made a decision by voting. As for going here and there, only I voted. As for relaxing at the hotel without going anywhere, my husband and daughter voted. My family runs like a democracy, so we decided to relax at the hotel without going anywhere.

The hotel was equipped with an outdoor heated swimming pool and a hot Jacuzzi tub. We went for swimming. The heated pool was great. We enjoyed swimming and soaking ourselves in the Jacuzzi tub.  The clear blue sky with a bunch of palm trees made our vacation even nicer.

After enjoyed the outside swimming pool, we went back our room and enjoyed another Jacuzzi bath in the hotel room.

The hotel front desk representative recommended us to swing by at the cafeteria in the hotel. They offered a nice surprise. The cafeteria offers each hotel guest two drinks for free of charge. I received two cups of red wines, my husband received two cups of beer, and my daughter received two cups of soda. They also offered a free snack. They had freshly made popcorn, crackers, and warm cheese dips.

After the sunset, we went back to the outdoor swimming pool. The pool was decorated with illumination lights that change color. It was beautiful.

Our vacation Day-1 went by so quickly. We all had a great time together.

PCDA – Plan, Do, Check, Act 10/17/2019

I finished reading one book. It is about how to lose weight.

I found some common factors with the author, so that I could easily project myself into her.

The author is a Japanese woman who is around my age. She weighed 62.5 kg, which is also similar to mine. She loves rice and tends to eat more than necessary.

This book is about her success story to have lost 10 kg in two years. She now weighs 52.5 kg and keeps her ideal weight.

In the book she also includes two coworkers who followed her method. These two women are also around my age. Their heights are same as mine. Their weights were different from mine though. They weighed 53 kg, which is pretty light, but they still wanted to lose 4 to 5 more kg to enter in 40s in kg. The standard weight for Japanese is different from Americans. The majority of Japanese are very skinny but they want to lose their weight more.

From my own experiences, the majority of my friends in America who are in my age group are not skinny as Japanese. Their common weights are somewhere between 150 lb. to 160 lb. (68 kg to 72.6 kg).

Now I clearly understand why I didn’t realize soon about putting more weights in this area. I am now well-blended in to the current environment.

My weight fluctuates, going ups and downs. My recent lightest was 58.8 kg in September 2018, while my recent heaviest was 63.4 kg in January 2019. These numbers fit to my pattern. I lose some weight in summer and put extra weight in winter. I exercise more and eat less in summer while I do the opposite in winter. In 2015, I kept the good weight of 56 kg for about one year. Then, in 2016, with the situation of my husband’s unemployment situation (stressful and too much worry and concern), I regained back to the heavy body.

While young, I never gained too much weight. I never thought I would need to be on a diet. It was when I turned to 44 years old that I started gaining weight.

The cause of gaining weight is the amount I eat. I eat in the same way as I was young. My body does not have a high metabolism system as I did in younger years. Thus, I need to reduce the amount I eat.

The average daily intake calorie is around 2,000 kcal while the average daily burned calorie is around 1,500 kcal.

My goal is to weigh 56 kg. As of today I weigh 60.0 kg, so I will need to lose 4 more kg for my goal. I want to reach the goal by February 2020. So, I want to lose 4 more kg in 4 months.

The reason is I want to regain my good health. When l am in a good body size, my organs function normally. Also, I want to look young and pretty.

My action plan is to keep the intermittent fasting of 16/8 method. I already have incorporated good amount of exercise daily; more than one hour a day. I will keep doing this.

I hope I will be able to report my success in losing weight in my short article in February 2020.

Last day of the health reconvening program 10/16/2019

Since September 11th, I had participated a 34-day health recovering program offered by a Japanese man. Today was the last day.

In this program, he shared some exercises and ideas to recover our good health. They are as follows.

– Swinging arms exercise

– Twisting body exercise

– Vertical vibration exercise

– Appreciating to body cells and communicating with them

– Appreciation journal

– In the morning writing down to-do-list, and in the night praising myself for items that I have done in the list – that will give me confidence in a body cell level

– Feeling love from the beings around me who keep loving me

– Meditation

I had known these tips. Somebody had told me and recommended me years ago. But I didn’t continue any of them except for meditation. I meditate every morning.

He advised me to have an image of my body cells receiving white healing lights in my meditation. I have started incorporating the work in my meditation.

I appreciate the Japanese man for sharing these information. It was an interesting program. I am going to incorporate all of his suggestions in my daily routine.

IKEA drawing contest 10/15/2019

This week my daughter’s school is closed for autumn break. I enjoyed spending all day with my daughter.

IKEA’s Kids’ drawing contest has come back to this year again. The contest submission closes on November 1st, and the voting will start on November 14th.

My daughter draw a cute kitten. I submitted her drawing to the online contest.

I hope somebody in the world will like my daughter’s drawing.

Already holiday season 10/14/2019

Today was a National holiday observing Columbus Day. My in-laws left in the morning for their return trip back to their home.

We were planning to go to the orchard and farm today, which we originally planned to go there with my in-laws yesterday. But when we woke up this morning, we were all feeling tired. It was understandable. For the past two days we were busy with my in-laws.

We decided to relax instead of going to the orchard and farm. They are located in a far distance from our house.

So, my husband and daughter went to the theater to watch movie. I stayed behind and enjoyed my alone time.

I am surprised to know it is already in the middle of October.

In this time of the year, the holiday season, days seem to go faster. My daughter has one week long of autumn break this month. Kids will enjoy Halloween at the end of this month. Next month, we have a Veteran’s day and Thanksgiving Day. School has several days off. The following month is already the last month of the year. School has a winter break to celebrate Christmas and upcoming New Year.

I’d better spend each day to the most.

In-law’s visit Day-2 10/13/2019

Today was Day-2 of my in-laws’ visit.

We were originally planning to go to the orchard and farm. It was my mom-in-law’s strong request. In October they have some fun events in the farm. They have a hay ride and a corn maze. Also a variety sized and colored of pumpkins are available to pick up. Everything is fun for all aged people; not only for kids but also for adults. My mom-in-law told me yesterday that she was so excited to visit there. It will be her very first visit. She also told me that she was planning to bring pumpkins to her two sisters.

However, we needed to cancel our plan. My mom-in-law woke up this morning with a sore throat. She could barely speak.

So we decided to change our plan into an easy one. We decided to stay locally and take it easy.

In the local community college, they had a gem show in this weekend. It is located just a 5-minute drive away from their hotel.

We visited the gem show. We had a good time there. I purchased a heart shaped stone plate of 7 inch long. It has many different sized and shaped fossils contained. My daughter bought a necklace top with an amber stone and a silver attachment with her own allowance. She gifted it to my mom-in-law. My mom-in-law was so happy for my daughter’s kindness and pure love.  

After the gem show, we came back to the hotel. We cooked out at the grill by the swimming pool. My daughter and I jumped in the swimming pool. The water was icy cold, but we enjoyed swimming. There was also a hot Jacuzzi tub which contained a very hot water. We enjoyed soaking ourselves in both pools; a hot one and a cold one.

After our late lunch, we headed back home so that my in-laws could rest up by themselves.

I am glad that their visit ended peacefully.

In-law’s visit Day-1 10/12/2019

My in-laws are visiting our area. They arrived at the local hotel last night. They will stay for 3 nights to spend time with us.

So, today was our Day-1 to spend all day with them.

Our all-day-tour stared from sightseeing the old western town. We had lunch at the Mexican restaurant there. It was fun to see all the workers in the town were in the old Western outfits. Even in the restaurant, all the waitresses were in the old fashioned Western dresses.

Our next stop was sightseeing the mining town. We attended the mine tour. For the tour, after we paid the admission and signed-in the agreement paperwork, we needed to wait for 2.5 hours until the tour started. It was my very first time to attend their tour.

All the tour participants were outfitted with a yellow slicker, a helmet, and a miner’s headlamp. We boarded the mine train and descended into the underground mine. The tour was conducted by the former miners and shared his personal experiences worked as a minor.

It was a fun tour. In my personal opinion though, only one tour is enough. For some reason, my in-laws love this tour. As a matter of fact, today’s tour was their third one.

Our last stop was the local Asian restaurant for dinner.

We walked a lot throughout the day.

By the time we came back home, Sun was already set. It was dark and cold.

I was exhausted.

It was not only from walking but also from the nervous feeling being with in-laws. I’ve known them for the past twenty years, but still, I feel nervous being around them for such a long time.

Another reason was due to the crowd of people. Everywhere we went, there were many people around us. Compared with the crowd of people in a big city in Japan, it is definitely nothing in our small town, but still, I don’t like being surrounded by many people. I was born like that.

While I am writing this, I am peaceful at home. I am glad and thankful that our day went well, and I am safely back home.

Irregular day 10/11/2019

Today was a regular Friday for everybody, but not for my family.

My husband had a red eye on this week from time to time. It was not from serious disease but from fatigue. So he took a day off from work today. He rested up all day and recovered his good health.

It was irregular to stay at home with my husband in daytime of weekday while my daughter is at school.

Some of my older friends are having this kind of days every day, because their husbands either work at home or they don’t need to work after retired from work.

I am used to stay at home alone while my husband and daughter are out of home during the daytime on weekdays. To be honest, I like being alone at home.

That being said, while I am writing this, I received a block of thoughts from my family spirits. I should be careful what I wish for.

While I was single, I had time and freedom all to myself for many years. I wished for my family to spend time together. Now I am provided my family.

I should appreciate for what I am provided right now. I should cherish the time whenever I stay with my precious family.
